But soon The King Himself Heard of Humpty's fate. And he was deeply disturbed. So setting aside his royal finery, he disguised Himself as a common peasant, The King slipped out of the majestic palace Gates and into the rough-and-tumble streets of the city. The king meandered through the streets and lanes of the City, in his persistent pursuit to find Humpty. and one day He found his shattered body scattered all over about a ten foot circle in a back alley in the midest of beer cans and broken glass, Through weak from his searching, the King was OVERJOYED at the sight of Humpty, He ran to his side and cried "Humpty It is I your King" I have powers greater than all my horses and all my men. I can put you back to- gather again. Be at peace I am here to help you. "Leave me alone," Humpty's mouth resorted "I have gotten used to this way of life," I kind of like it here. "But---" was all the King could get out of his mouth, before Humpty continued. "I Tell you, I am fine, I Like it here. That trash can over there the way the sun sparkles on it, and the broken glass. This must be the garden spot of the world!". The King tried again I assure you my Kingdom has much more to offer than this back alley there are green mountains rolling surfs, exciting cities. But Humpty would not hear none of it. And the saddened King returned to the palace. A week or so later the king decided to try again Humpty's eyes rolled skyward to see the King standing over his fractured pieces. "I have come to Help," said the King. "Look ,Leave me alone will you I am enjoying this kind of life, I just seen a Psychiatrist and he says that I am doing a fine job of coping with my environment as it is. You're a cope-out. A man has to deal with life as it comes. , I'm a realist. " But wouldn't you rather walk?" Asked the King. "Look Humpty's mouth replied. "Once I get up and walk, then I will have to keep walking, at this point in my life I'm not ready to make that kind of commitment. So if you will excuse me, you are blocking my sun" So the king went away again and went back to his Kingdom, and in a couple of years he though of old Humpty so he ventured again to Humpty's side. , ,,,, But sure enough, on that bright morning one of Humpty's ears perked up at the sure and steady strides of the King. This time he was ready. Humpty's eyes turned toward the tall figure just as his mouth managed to say the words "My King" Immediately the King fell on his knees on the glass covered ground, His strong, and knowing hands gently began to piece together the broken pieces of Humpty's body. , After some time his work completed, the King rose to full height, pulling Humpty up with him. The two walked hand in hand through out the Kingdom. Together they stood atop lush mountains. They ran together along the gleaming cities of the Kingdom. This went on forever. And to the depth, breath, and height of their friendship there was no end. Once while walking together down the side walk in one of the King's cities, Humpty over heard a remark that made his heart leap with both the joy of his new life and the bitter memory of the back alley, Someone said "Say, who are those two men" Another replied "Why the one on the left is Old Humpty Dumpty, I don't know who the one on the right is, but they sure look like brothers!!!!!. The King is soon coming for his own, He is now persistently seeking for you, are you going to be like Humpty and keep putting him off. And maybe miss out on the rapture. and be left behind. Or will you be ready to receive the King when he comes for you?????????? The Potter's Clay Jim Haga |
